Hi Jon,
I’ve enjoyed many of your podcasts and have been meaning to invite you to come take a break here in Puerto Rico someday. My wife and I have been hosting pastors and missionaries for the past 7 years. We don’t publish this ministry and there is no cost. God has been sending as many guests as we can manage. Inviting them by way of referral has been working well.
I will list a few details about us and what we offer. If this brings to your mind a weary friend (pastor or missionary) who needs to get away and unwind in a very lovely setting, please give them my number. I will consider one of your referrals right away.
Jim and Stacie Bowers

– I served with ABWE in the jungle of Peru in the 90’s until my wife Roni (and daughter Charity) were killed who the CIA and Peruvian Air Force shot down our mission plane April 20, 2001.
– God brought my childhood MK friend back into my life soon after Roni passed away. Stacie had been serving as a single missionary in Portugal since finishing her training at Moody.
– Both of our dad’s who were missionary pilots serving tribal missionaries in the Brazilian Amazon. We grew up in small river towns not far from each other and attended New Tribes boarding school together for many years.
– After finally marrying (25 years later) we spent 9 years in Mozambique in sports evangelism and church ministries. My son Cory survived the Peru shoot down with me and God gave Stacie and me 2 daughters who were born in Portugal and Africa. Lauren (20) enjoyed 2 years at Word of Life Bible Institute (not far from you) and is preparing for tribal ministry where God leads. Marlene (19) is finishing her 2nd year at Word of Life.
– After Mozambique we lived aboard our 50′ sailboat with our two girls, 2 years aboard doing sailing-related ministries in the Chesapeake Bay area, a year sailing together from Canada to Puerto Rico, and a year aboard making plans to stay long-term in the Caribbean. The Lord eventually gave us a lovely ministry base here in Fajardo, Puerto Rico.
-Adjacent to our home is a very comfortable guest home which has served as a respite for so many wonderful pastors and missionaries, an incredible joy for our family. We’ve been blessed as much, or more than these faithful servants from many parts of the world.
– We do not offer formal counseling but feel good about what we’ve are able to give our guests. I can send you a little more details if/when that would interest you. One big hit for most of those who come to rest here is the day/days they get to relax among gorgeous little Caribbean islands nearby. Life aboard our comfortable sailing yacht really helps make our hospitality ministry something special !
Thank you Jon for your faithful ministry. You’ve been a big encouragement to me.
